Chip’s FREE MLB Winner Colorado at Kansas City 8:10 ET Royals over Rockies- I have been told a number of times from my old friends back est insist that Kansas City is as bad as the Athletics but I beg to differ as I have seen this version of Oakland and they are of lower Double-A ball (really, that bad). But, the Rockies are not that much better...Take KANSAS CITY! |

Baltimore at San Francisco 10:15 ET Giants over Orioles- This seems to be an awful high price to have to pay to back a .500 team against Baltimore who is off to their best start (35-21) since the glory years. But, San Francisco after a slow start to the season has played better ball of late going 17-12 in May while the Orioles keep singing with some of the best young talent in the AL starting to mature as players. Dean Kramer (5-2, 4.58) has had great offensive support while his counterpart from the Giants Logan Webb (4-5, 2.75) has thrown better with less results. What this price is telling me is that Webb who won his last five starts will contain the Orioles offense...and for how long before the bullpen takes over. Take SAN FRANCISCO! |

Seattle at Texas 8:05 ET Mariners over Rangers- Both clubs will be sending out their best of this season in a battle between a pair of right-handers as the Rangers send Jon Gray (5-1, 2.81 ERA) to the bump and Seattle will direct Luis Castillo (2.69) to the mound. It pains me to play against Texas as I posted them to be the surprise winner (that is one reason I hate making preseason predictions having to pay against my self.) What I see is the home club being given no advantage (by the odds-makers) here when they are a far superior club. Last season the Mariners went 14-5 against Texas including 73 in the Lone Star State. This line is just too short...Take SEATTLE! |

St. Louis at Pittsburgh 7:05 ET Cardinals over Pirates- These two ball clubs started the season in different fashions as the Pirates were hot and St. Louis was not and off to their worst start since 1914 and now things are beginning to level off. Pittsburgh got out fast and at one time were 11-games over .500 by winning 20 games in April and then started 1-11 in May. The Cardinals are coming off their first two day break since September 1978 (can that be right...yup! The Red Birds are starting Jack Flaherty (3-4, 4.81 ERA) who has found his tempo after a show start to the year but is 9-1 with a 2.57 ERA lifetime against Pittsburgh. Take ST. LOUIS! |

Toronto at New York Mets 4:10 ET Mets over Blue Jays- It was just about two years ago when Mets starter Trevor Megill (5-3, 4.67 ERA) made his first MLB start and it was a 3-0 win as he shut down Toronto on two hits in six scoreless innings. Last night former Mets pitcher Chris Bassitt shut New York down for 7.2 innings. The Blue Jays as we have seen before just do not seem to be as good as more people expected or hoped. Mets has their eight game home winning streak stopped last night and will start a new one today. Take NEW YORK! |

Baltimore at San Francisco 10:05 ET Giants over Orioles- Baltimore continues to amaze and win coming off a 3-2 win over the Giants last night and are now 15-games over .500. San Francisco continues to tread water and fell 1-game under the break even mark losing last night. The Orioles will start Kyle Bradish (2-1, 3.89 ERA) who is coming off a home town effort against the Angels allowing one run in 6.2 innings. The Giants will start veteran Alex Cobb (4-2, 3.05) who pitched three years as an Oriole going 7-22, since and before and he is 7-2 with a 2.17 ERA in 13 appearances against the O’s. Take SAN FRANCISCO! |

New York Yankees at LA Dodgers 7:10 ET Dodgers over Yankees- I love when these two iconic baseball powers meet as the video of yesteryear will be shown over again with Don Larson, Reggie Jackson, Don Newcome and a slew of others in black and white footage (except Reggie). New York will send undefeated and Cy Young candidate Gerrit Cole (6-0, 2.93 ERA) to the hill and he has been racked for five earned runs in each of his last two starts but was bailed out by a load of Aaron Judge homers. The Dodgers will send rookie Michael Grove (0-1, 8.44) out against what is not such a formidable line-up even with whiff artist Stanton back. Somehow it is LOS ANGELES! |
